"I love being pregnant"

Being pregnant is such an awesome experience for me and I cannot get enough. I have been feeling movement for the past month now and it is the best feeling in the entire world. I love waking up to morning kicks and cuddling with Carl and feeling them together right before bed. It can't get much better than this. We love this little dude so much already, I can't even begin to imagine how much more we will fall in love with him when we meet him for the first time.

Carl has been a super star hubby throughout my pregnancy and always asks me if I need anything. He tells me I'm beautiful everyday and my favorite is when he stares at my tummy and runs over to kiss it and talk to our son. We had our big ultrasound on Tuesday at 21 weeks and as we were getting out of the elevator, Carl says to me "I love being pregnant." I think he was referring to loving "me" being pregnant and how he loves watching my belly grow but if "he" loves being pregnant, I will let him think he is pregnant too. He always tells people "we are pregnant" and gets jealous when I get to feel more kicks than he does throughout the day. I think it's safe to say that we are both smitten.

Our ultrasound went perfectly and we were amazed as we watched all four chambers of his tiny heart pumping at 145 BPM. We feel so blessed to have a healthy baby boy growing inside of me and he is a constant reminder of God's love for us. I am continually in awe of this little miracle (in reality, it is not little at all) and feel so grateful that God has blessed us with the most important job in the world. Being a parent is a dream come true and I cannot wait for all of the fun and challenging times that come along with it.

We are in love with sweet baby Canaan. Yup, he has a name! If you are wondering how to pronounce Canaan, it's pronounced Kane-en, similar sounding to Caden but with an "n."

When Carl and I went to Israel with part of my family and our church in November of 2007, we fell in love with the name Canaan. Carl became a believer in Israel on November 6, 2007 on the Western steps of the Temple where Jesus used to preach. It was such a special time in our lives and we find it perfect to name our son after the Holy Land, which used to be known as the land of Canaan. The land of Canaan was the part of ancient Palestine between the Jordan River & the Mediterranean —sometimes used to refer to all of ancient Palestine. We have so many amazing memories from our trip to Israel including Carl's acceptance of Christ and my baptism in the Jordan River where Jesus was baptized by his cousin John the Baptist. We cannot wait to one day tell Canaan about how we chose his name and the significance behind it.

Here we are on the temple steps, moments after Carl became a believer and accepted Jesus Christ as his Savior. One of the best days of our life, hands down.

I am so happy that my mom and sisters got to be a part of such an incredible and life changing moment

I chose to get baptized at nine years old but always wanted to get baptized in the Jordan!

I think I will go cry myself to sleep now with happy tears of joy :)
