Canaan's Birthday Party!

Well, it's been a long time since I blogged and I basically skipped Caney's entire first year on our family blog. I will do my best to catch up over the next couple of months but figured his first birthday party would be a good starting point.

Canaan is one curious little dude so we thought a Curious George themed party would be perfect for our little monkey. His birthday falls in November which is one of my busiest months for photos so his party crept up on me and I threw it together as quickly and as best as I could. I am so happy that we got to have our closest family and friends over to celebrate the life of our beautiful boy. He is the best thing in this entire world and we are so grateful for all of the people that love him. I will do a first birthday post another time and gush about how I love him so much it hurts and how I cannot believe how fast time has gone but for now I will stick to the party.

It was a really fun day even though Canes didn't really get a nap and the only way to spruce him up was to give him his first juice box. ;) He has only had one since the party and he is almost 15 months. We try to limit it around here because his mom and dad are sugar addicts and we hope that he won't inherit that bad habit. ;) But it did the trick and he had the best time. He devoured his entire cupcake and finished off the juice box. Pretty sure those were the highlight of his party.

The first half of September

The first half of September was packed with park days, play dates, beach days and a lot of snuggles with our little mister. I love September so much, mostly because I got married in September but Carl and I also started dating in September, the weather is pretty perfect and, for the most part, September is a mellow month.

We had a play date at Decker's house. They fought (or shoved) over who could touch the crib. ;)

Our typical mornings consisted of lots of fruit (and waffles of course),  playing on mommy and daddy's bed, and snuggling.

Sometimes when Canes wakes up too early, there are tears involved when he doesn't get his way. His cry face is the cutest/saddest face ever.

Canaan got into a lot of mischief around the house. Including (but not limited to) emptying the kitchen drawers, playing in mommy's bathroom cabinets, putting anything and everything into his mouth, and wrapping things around his neck (talk about a safety hazard). He is a busy dude and my eyes are never off of him for more than 2-3 seconds (not even kidding).

Park dates are always a weekly routine for us.

He is just too cute. We are completely obsessed with him.

The beach is our happy place. We try to get there as much as we can, even when it's a little chilly.

After nap play time is always my favorite. We always snuggle in my bed right after Caney's nap and then we play at home and snack a little before we head out of the house again.

We spent some afternoons in the front yard snacking with Koby. And of course Canes had to venture off to find other stuff to put in his mouth. I wonder how long he will continue to do this?

We swam a little but I didn't manage to capture much of it. Canes loves the pool and pretty much anything that consists of water.

We took lots of walks with Koby and hit up the park a lot. We usually end up at a park everyday at some point.

Canaan loves the swing. He laughs and screams with excitement every. single. time. It is my favorite.

Cousins are our favorite too. We wish we could see them every day but we only manage to get together every other week or so, due to busy schedules. Canaan and Parker are only 14 months apart, they are starting to have a lot of fun playing together.
